Which membership category is right for you?
For all practicing osteopathic physicians, with discounted pricing options for physicians in the first three years of practice and military physicians. Join online or download a printable application. Please note: Special or discounted rates apply only to DOs who have been non-members for at least two years.
Osteopathic Medical Student
Osteopathic medical students receive complimentary membership in the AOA. If you are a student and have not received your AOA ID, please contact the AOA Customer Resource Center.
For non-DOs who have a professional relationship with an AOA DO member and/or with affiliates of the AOA as specified in the AOA's bylaws.
For licensed health care providers who are currently employed with an active member of the AOA, contribute to the practice of that member, are not eligible for any other category of membership and who support the goals and objectives of the AOA. Also for physicians holding an MD degree and license to practice in the U.S. who support the AOA mission and subscribe to its code of ethics.
For MDs who graduated from an AOA-recognized medical school located outside of the U.S. and who hold a license for unlimited scope of medical practice, including the authority to prescribe without limitation in their country of practice. The physician must reside and practice outside the U.S. and support the goals and objectives of the AOA and agree to subscribe to its code of ethics.
Application for membership and payment of any fees should not be construed as acceptance into International Physician Membership. The AOA Bureau of Membership reviews applications for membership and provides appropriate recommendations to the Board of Trustees for action. The Board of Trustees has the final authority in approval of any membership request.
